Guild Charter

Preface

This charter should be read and understood by all Guild members. If you have any questions or remarks do not hesitate to contact a General or the Commander.

Mission Statement

Home Wreckers is a World of Warcraft guild on the Uldaman (Alliance) server. Our focus is to progress in end-game raiding with an emphasis on having fun. We are always looking for strong members who wish to positively contribute to our guild.

Organization

Leadership - Officers, Generals, and the Commander

The following is a list of requirements for the Officers, Generals, and the Commander.:
  • Be Respectful - not only of the Guild Members, but of everyone that they meet in game.
  • Willing to help - Help out around the guild whenever you can.
  • Willing to listen - Help Guild Members with their problems and listen to new ideas.
  • Communicate - Talk in officer chat and guild chat, communicating the problems and ideas that you've heard.
  • Knowledgeable - No one knows everything, but you should still have a good knowledge of the game.
  • Committed - Officers should be committed to the well being and advancement of the Guild.
  • Positive attitude - Officers are expected to have a positive attitude in guild chat and with the Guild Members. Doubts and concerns may be expressed in officer chat or through the correct communication channels.
  • Officers are role models for the new and younger members of the guild. Officers should act as we would like all Guild Members to act.
  • Abuse of the officers' powers is not permitted. If you feel an officer is abusing their power, please inform the Guild Commander.
Voting Sessions
      • Voting sessions will be conducted regularly by members of high leadership in the guild (Commander/Generals)
      • Each party is given one vote for any particular issue. At any given time there will be an odd number of votes in order to prevent a tie.
      • A voting session can only be enacted by the Commander of the guild, and will be used to deal with serious issues only. A voting session will not be used to deal with regular issues (IE: problems with guild members, loot (under most circumstances), etc...)
      • A voting session will be used to promote new officers, as well as Generals. It will also be used to make changes to the Guild Charter, and any other policy not listed within the Charter.

Ranks

Commander
  • The rank of Commander contains all of the rights and privileges of all ranks below him/her. The Commander is the voice of the guild, however, does not hold any power over the General's "below" him in rank.
  • The Commander receives one vote, similar to a General, when a voting session is enacted. Note that while the Guild has no formal democratic structure, the Commander and Generals will take the wishes of the members into account whenever possible.
General
  • The rank of General contains all of the rights and privileges of all ranks below him/her. The rank of General is the highest ranking position that is attainable in the guild, and can only be voted in by current General's as well as the Commander. There must be an even number of General's at all times.
  • Each General has the right to one vote when a voting session has been enacted.
  • All General's have the right to invite members, kick members, as well as enforce guild policy / discipline.
Officer
  • The rank of Officer contains all of the rights and privileges of all ranks below him/her. The rank of Officer can only be earned by a voting session of the Generals. Current Officers may give suggestions and input to the Generals, however, they have no official vote when the voting session begins.
  • The title of officer gives the ability to officer listen, as well as officer speak in guild chat. All talk of any issues, policy discussion, disciplinary action, etc... will take place in this channel.
  • The position of Officer does not give the ability to "/gkick", however, it does allow demotion for those ranked below the rank of Officer. If any issues are to arrive, any Officer should demote the accused into the "Chatty Cathy" rank until any issues can be resolved. Demotion is not to be used to make jokes at other members of the guild, and any negative actions will not come without punishment.
  • As an officer, it is your duty to treat all guild members with respect. If confrontations / arguments arise you should attempt to step in resolve the issue. Remember to listen to both sides of any issue, and take action as necessary. If an Officer ever has any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact a General or the Commander.
Raider
  • The rank of Raider contains all of the rights and privileges of all ranks below him/her. The rank of Raider will be attained by a majority of the members in the guild, however, it is not given upon joining the guild. It must be earned by proving yourself as a competent player, and will be given upon passing the trial status rank of "Underling". All raiders must be level 70, actively raiding, and have signed the Guild Charter.
  • The title of raider gives you access to most of the tabs in the guild bank, however, there is still not unlimited access. There is a limit to the amount of items you can take per day, and you cannot take gold. It is suggested that if you take something, that you at least contribute by means of gold or materials. The guild bank will be checked frequently, and if it is noticed you are taking more than your share, you will be questioned. Also, do not be afraid to ask an officer if you need to take more than your alloted amount for a particular day.
Underling
  • The title of Underling gives no rights or privileges in the guild, other than talking in guild chat. Being this rank means that you are on a trial status within the guild, have not achieved the level 70, or have not signed the Guild Charter.
Chatty Cathy
  • The title of Chatty Cathy gives no rights or privileges, and you cannot talk in guild chat. Being demoted to this rank means you have either done something against the Guild Charter, or your were recently invited and have not yet been promoted to Underling. If you feel that you are demoted to this rank in error, please contact a guild officer immediately.

Communication

  • The main means of communicating with each other is the forum. The forums are to be used to tell your fellow guild mates about your game experiences, to post screen shots, to form a party to do instances, to plan raids, etc. and to check for news from the Commander, Generals, Officers, or others. Check it often! The forum address is: http://rockstar.6.forumer.com/

  • We expect our members to adhere to the forum rules.

  • We also have our own website. The website address is: HTTP://homewreckers.iwarp.com/index.html

  • We use Ventrilo so we can talk with other guild members while in game. This speeds up playing and increases the success of partying. Ventrillo is a requirement for raiding within the guild. Having a mic is not necessary; listening is however. Also, feel free to use Ventrilo to casually chat with other guild members, use it for groups outside of raiding, etc... We have a 50 man limit currently, and would like to see the Ventrillo used more often. If there is ever a problem with the server, or a person on the server with problems, please report it to a member of leadership immediately.

Guidelines

Behavior

  • It is expected that all members of the Guild treat each other with respect.

  • Bad language is tolerated, offensive or racist language is not. Any offenders will be asked to moderate their language. Continued issues with conduct within the guild chat can ultimately lead to disciplinary action. Also bear in mind that our members come from different backgrounds and all ages races and sexes.

  • Cooperation is something we pride ourselves on. We wish this tradition to continue. It is not expected higher level characters give up too much time to help out the lower level characters, however, help is always appreciated.

Resources

  • If an item is bought outside the Guild (Vendor, AH) or otherwise has caused the owner a cost it is considered only fair that the Member who receives that item repays the costs to the person making it available.
  • There is no reason why trading for profit amongst Guild members cannot happen, just be fair about things with each other. Trade skill items which can be made without a cool down should be traded at cost; if the materials are supplied the item will be free. Members are encouraged, but certainly not obligated, to share looted items of relatively modest value (trade-goods, green items) for free.
  • If you have become the owner of an item through an in-guild exchange this does not give you the right to use it as you wish. If you say you will use an item another Member is about to give you for free then sell it at the AH immediately afterwards it will be considered a serious breech of the Charter.

Disputes and Arguments between Members

  • We are all human and we will, at some point, disagree with each other. All arguments should be handled discretely. This means no spamming guild with insults, accusations etc. All arguments should be taken to private channels (email, PM's, /w, /p) as soon as possible.

  • If a problem can not be resolved please bring it to the attention of the appropriate Commander, Generals, or Officers as soon as possible.

  • The Commander and the Generals have the final word in any dispute between Members.

Sanctions

We are not a guild that wants to police its members. We hope to use this section only rarely, but any breach can be reported to the Commander, Generals, and Officers who will deal with the matter.
  • The Commander and Generals are responsible for deciding how to deal with Members who break Charter rules.
  • The Commander, Generals, and Officers have complete freedom of action and can warn, fine (as reparations, in case of breaches related to money or items), demote or remove Members (General and above only) as they see fit. Immediate removal from the Guild will only occur in the gravest of circumstances. If possible, the breaches should be discussed by several before the more severe measures of demotion or removal are taken.
  • Breaches by Underlings will face a lower level of tolerance than those of full members; they may be removed without consultation if their actions make clear they don't share the general guild spirit.
  • If problems are related to an item, the class of an item (rare, epic) will be taken into account.
  • The Leadership of the guild has the right to use their judgment concerning anything that is not covered in the Guild Charter.

Unforeseen Amendments

  • As before, the Commander and Generals have the final say. An Officer is not allowed to deviate from this charter or enforce rules not explicitly mentioned herein without consulting the Commander or Generals, except under extreme circumstances.

  • The Guild reserves the right to change the contents of the Charter at anytime it is deemed necessary to do so. Agreement for changes to the Guild Charter will be done by a voting session.
